#करो न (dos), करो ना (donts) - Pragya Pranjali
Pragya Pranjali : Public Health Professional & Principal Scientist
Every earthshaking event shakes up our confidence. But a few of them shakes up even our inner soul. Novel Corona Covid-19 is one such thing which is proving not only a health issue, not only a threat to life, but a soul-shaker on a larger scale. You must be wondering by reading to this new terminology i.e. soul-shaker. But believe me it has been added to our vocabulary without even uttering it. All past onslaughts have been slaughtered by corona dynamite. Corona-centric expressions are spreading faster than rumours. Jokes, memes, tik-tok videos about Covid cases in the vicinity have become as common as never before. And so do Covid related casualties.
Only a couple of days back fear spread among thousands of workers at Asia's biggest wholesale mandi for farm produce in north Delhi's Azadpur after a 57 years old vegetable dealer there died of the Covid-19 infection.
Yesterday only a 65 year old man tested positive for Covid-19 who has been confined to his flat (in Exotica Elegance Society, Ahimsa Khand-2, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, U.P.) since the lockdown began on March 24. The infection source is not known yet. Since the only person living in the flat is his wife, her samples have been collected for tests.
A 45 year old migrant worker died in Jorhat after walking for almost 170 kilometers to reach his home in Golaghat from Nagaland. He was a part of a group of 200 people who, too, walking back home. Medical report for the cause of his death is awaited.
In north Delhi's Roop Nagar a helper at a fair price shop has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection. The helper carries out clerical responsibilities at the shop on the frontline to provide dry ration to beneficiaries under the public distribution system during the lockdown period. He closely interacted with a large number of beneficiaries and a few department officials in the last few days when the shop witnessed huge rush of beneficiaries queuing up for their quota of ration. He might have passed on infection to many others.
So the conclusion is that one should stay at home with minimal or no contact with anybody to stay safe from this unseen enemy called coronavirus. The principal scientist for public health Ms. Pragya Pranjali has conveyed an important message to the society on Naqsh's request regarding #करो न (dos), करो ना (donts).
Thank you so much Pragya Pranjali ji.
